Chambers helps spruce up Guildford Gardens
For the third year running we are supporting the fantastic Ready4Action project, which will see over 200 volunteers spring into action to spruce up Guildford gardens and green spaces.
Taking place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May, volunteers will cut back overgrowth, remove rubbish, clear paths, replace fencing and demolish a shed or two! We are supplying three of our huge Roll On Roll Off (RORO) containers to hold the waste before taking it to our Slyfield plant to sort it for recycling.
Ready4Action organiser Danny Adams said: “We are thrilled that Chambers is supporting us again this year - the ROROs are essential to the project. Chambers always goes above and beyond to invest in its community.
“Ready4Action is a social action project, which helps residents who might not be able to tend to their gardens and outdoor space because of issues such as health. Our volunteers, many of whom are under the age of 18, find the experience really rewarding –and there’s a brilliant sense of community spirit during the weekend.”
Emma Chambers, finance director of Chambers Waste Management, added: “We think that Ready4Action is a brilliant initiative so are delighted to provide the ROROs again this year. We have been trading in and around the Guildford area for over 50 years and are keen to support local initiatives.”
