We’ve invested in more new fleet
This Volvo L50 is one of three brand new shovel loaders that have started work at our Recycling Centre in Guildford. The other models are a Volvo L60 and a JCB TM320.
The shovels are used for processing our segregated material – which include metal, wood and cardboard – as well as general loading and shredding.
With safety in mind, we have fitted all three shovels with:
Fireward automatic fire suppression system, to reduce the risk of fire
Ogden VMS auto braking system - which automatically applies the brakes if the machine reverses within three metres of a person or object
360 degree recording CCTV
Forward facing cameras mounted on the cabs, providing the operator with a clear view ahead even when the bucket is fully loaded.
Chambers Finance Director Emma Chambers said: “The shovels have been introduced as part of our ongoing plant replacement programme, which ensures all our mobile plant is modern and meets latest safety standards.
“In addition, with recycling one of our fastest growth areas, it is vital we have the latest plant in operation.”
Chambers offers a range of recycling services for domestic and commercial customers. It also loves the planet, and send no more than 2% of the waste it handles to landfill.
