Red Diesel Legislation Changes

From the 1st April 2022 it will no longer be legal to use red diesel for non-road mobile machinery such as forklift trucks and bulldozers or to power mobile generators. These changes are being made to help meet the governments climate change and air quality targets, part of the initiatives to help the UK become Net Zero by 2050.

Businesses will be required to prepare for these changes by disposing of or transferring away from red diesel.

What does this mean for Chambers customers?

We are significantly impacted by the Governments decision to remove the use of low duty red diesel in our industry. Moving to standard road diesel, which is taxed at a much higher rate, significantly increases the operating costs of our plant and equipment.
