Ho ho ho, Chambers is key sponsor of Eagle Radio’s Christmas Toy Appeal in Surrey and Hampshire again this year.

We’re looking for donations of new and unwrapped toys, books and puzzles for babies and children right up to the age of 15.

Please drop off your toys by Monday 16^th of December, to leave enough time for the presents to be wrapped and handed to the most suitable charity, ready for Christmas Day.

Chambers jumped straight into action to help repair the damage caused by the dramatic partial collapse of Tumbling Bay weir on the River Wey in Guildford last week.

The weir collapsed following heavy rain and caused a footbridge to fall into the river. Fortunately nobody was hurt.

Guildford Borough Council called us to urgently provide 100 bags of stone to help construct a temporary dam. Our aggregates team at Chambers Runfold quickly made up the bags and delivered them to Millbrook Car Park over the course of two days, ready to be craned into the river.

Mike Hughes, sales manager at Chambers Runfold explained: “The Council needed the bags of stone to create a temporary dam to return water levels to normal so that the river was navigable by barge. The barge will enable experts to access and repair the damage.

“We were just glad to be able to help out with this incident. We always have good stocks of aggregates, so are always prepared for this kind of situation.”
